IE Business School

Doctor in Business Administration (DBA)

Listado de Master

Elena Revilla Díaz
Academic Director

The main goal of the DBA Program is to enable outstanding managers to enhance their professional practice by combining academic rigor and managerial relevance, and to equip them with state of the art knowledge in their chosen area of study. Our aim is to produce research-oriented professionals working in management positions in industry and the public sector, with an interest in teaching and in part-time positions in academia. We expect our graduates to take back to their organizations increased understanding and conceptual thinking in the field of business management at the highest level.

To achieve this objective the program format is that of a blended part-time program that eliminates the kind of rift that often develops between learning and career. Because most research is driven by business realities, the program permits both elements to develop simultaneously. The online part of the program permits students to think deeply about issues that interest them, and their workplace provides a practical context to gauge the impact of their research on the practice of management.

The following is a list of selected faculty who are actively involved in cutting-edge research across different areas of management. If you would like further information about faculty and research, please search the IE Business School website at www.ie.edu where you will find a comprehensive database of research projects, working papers and research centres.

“The DBA offers a unique and challenging opportunity to combine your business expertise with rigorous research. It is the modern skyscraper of a business district that meets the ivory tower of academic research. This encounter brings valuable rewards to both the professional reading for the degree and the professors involved in the DBA program.

Marco Trombetta

“Why do organizations succeed? Not because of their support functions. Success of an organization lies primarily in how well it executes its primary value-adding processes. The DBA program at IE and its excellent Operations faculty will help you develop a rigorous and unique approach to understanding the design and execution of value-adding processes that can be broadly applied to any business and industry.”

Fabrizio Salvador
Professor of Operations Strategy

Being a DBA student at IE gives a unique chance to reflect on your own business experience in a stimulating learning environment. Sharing reflections and experience with brilliant classmates with multifaceted managerial background, and debating theories and implications with a world class faculty, makes IE DBA a unique opportunity to expand management research domain and anticipate new business trends.
